Cumbria Cup success for Neil Adams

7 June 2025 by Chris Alvey Leave a Comment

Neil continues his hot run of success surely national representative honours should come soon.

Reduced for 2025 to a One Day knockout for 8 players, the always well supported Cumbria Cup field was very strong and all games keenly contested. Round 1 saw Andrew Winn (Bowdon) beat Steve Skelton (Keswick), Lee Hartley (Fylde) beat Mike Sandler (Bowdon), David MaGee (Ben Rhydding) beat Dennis Scarr (Middlesbrough) and Neil Adams (Crake Valley) punish John Henderson (Penrith) 26tp-0.

Semi final results Andrew beat Lee 26-1 and Neil demolished David Magee 26-0. The final, as ever, could go either way but Neil was too strong and won 26-5.

After the final, the Crake Chair, Graham Jowett presented Neil with the small but valuable Cumbria Cup. An additional presentation, for being the highest placed NW player in the recent Bowdon Advanced weekend, meant he also receives the much larger Neil Williams NWFed Millennium Trophy.

The photos show Neil receiving both trophies and general play at the lovely Crake setting
