Fest02_BuryChampions

At the northwest federation croquet championships on 29 and 30 June 2002, Bury became the Champion Club. The two day tournament was a wonderful festival of croquet enjoyed by players from eleven clubs in the north west. The host club, Southport, ensured a friendly event which was enjoyed by nearly 100 people. The tournament was efficiently refereed by Abdul Ahmad who kept the event moving at a swift pace.

Bowdon won the Handicap section, Bury the Short and Southport the Golf, but the final aggregated position saw Bury the winner with Southport a close second.

Bob Burnett, Chairman of the North West Federation presentes the championship trophy to winning club captain, Geoff Young of Bury.
